Returned tonite to Sunol to re-take Sunol #10 without the breeze. I will post that repeat sometime later. Here is my favorite image from tonite.

I mentioned in the previous post that I was standing in the middle of the creek to take a picture and had to scramble out of the way of a truck. Here is the image that I was taking.

Tonite, I dragged myself out to Sunol. I did not go far but waded around near the truck crossing. The truck crossing is a shallow spot of the creek where trucks cross instead of going over the pedestrian bridge nearby. I had just setup my last shot of the nite. Imagine the situation. It is getting close to sundown. I am standing in the middle of the creek with my tripod. Vroom, up drives a truck. I had to snatch my tripod up and wade out of the way. That is a first. Wading in the creek and having to make way for traffic!

This is the intended panorama. Yesterday’s shot was a single frame of this panorama that I like better than the stitched result.

Went out tonite to Sunol. After trying a few unsuccessful infrared, I realized that I wanted to go back to color for while. This one was part of a stitched panorama but I liked the individual image.

This is star thistle a non-native invasive plant.

I have tried many shots of this pair of trees. I still do not have a shot that I am completely pleased with but I will keep trying.

Went out to Sunol yesterday with a small group. We hiked out to Little Yosemite and had to rush to get out of park before closing time. It was fairly hot yesterday but there was a lovely little breeze. Unfortunately, the breeze would kick up right before I would try to take a picture.

Chip drove us out to lunch today. So, I hauled out the camera for some drive-bys.

One of the many restaurants around the Plaza. We did not eat there and kept on walking.

These are the colors of Santa Fe. The orangey-red with blue accent. We saw this everywhere.

After taking his picture, this guy gave me a look that said what about a treat? He must belong to the shopkeeper because I saw him laying in the morning sun when we drove past the next day.

Waiting out our afternoon thundershower.

Another shot of the local wildflowers taken near our casita in Santa Fe.

I wandered to the edge of the gardens at the casita and found a patch of wildflowers. Here is the first of those shots.

This is the desk and kiva fireplace (gas powered). Mom would like to return this winter and run the fireplace.

This is the kitchen in our rented casita. Mom made coffee in the morning and had the best coffee that she has had all year.

In Santa Fe, we rented a charming casita. This is the guest house that is back behind the main house. The gardens were beautifully landscaped. We had a deck looking west down the hillside.

Could not resist this little abstract as we were prowling the Plaza in downtown Santa Fe. Some tourists walking by looked at what I was taking and left baffled. We, photograpers, do act a little crazy sometime.

This is the Contemporary Indian Art Museum on old town Santa Fe. We had blue skies for most of the visit except for a thundershower one afternoon.

We had a busy trip to visiting Art Santa Fe and the International Folk Art Festival. This was a grab shot taken in the parking area for our rented casita.

Mom was mugging for the camera. Our first leg of the flight to Santa Fe was a little rough. The plane was totally jammed, and Mom was frozen with the air conditioning. Then, she found out that airline blankets are not really blankets but more like an oversized hankerchief. The trip did improve.

Another from the archives. Taken out at Don Edwards. This is a detail from a boulder on the edge of the parking lot.

Another dug out of the archives. I am leaving for Art Santa Fe in a few days. Hopefully, I will come home with fresh material.

A moody shot taken while we were waiting for the fireworks to start last nite.

Another from the archives. Taken at the Mountain View Cemetery’s Tulip Show.

Here is a montague of my fireworks photos. I used the new ’Lighter Color’ Blending Mode in CS3 to create a really, really big finale.

Tonite, Chip, Mother and I took the dogs over to Baylands to see the fireworks at Shoreline. We ended up waiting around for a while before the show started. It was actually very dark and I guessed at the focus.
