Today, I made Chip take me out for some Drive-by shooting. We took the dogs out to Sunol for a walk. Of course, it started pouring rain in the middle of the walk. I was skeptical that I could get any shots with the rain but instead, this is my favorite drive-by ever.

This is a handheld nite shot taken at 0.8 second shutter speed. I used my Canon G9 and the image was really, really noisy. So, I combined a couple of bracketed shots and fiddled to make this result.

This is one of my first shots with my newly bought lens, the Canon 24-105L. I ordered the lens from KEH before Thanksgiving but a variety of things have kept me from shooting a single frame with it! It is a very good lens. Aphra and I went out for 20 minutes of shooting around the Emeryville City Hall.

I was hankering to go out shooting something besides drive-bys. So, I started to head out to Sunol. With the heavy rains, I stopped in a parking lot to turn around. Here is a shot through the windshield before I went home.

Hope that you had a very good first day of the new year. If you are really bored, I have a slide show of last year’s photos on Flickr. See 2007 Slideshow.
